The Price of Gold: Your Results May Vary
With the price of gold remaining high, many people continue to sell gold jewelry (and other gold items). In some cases, items may actually be worth more than you paid for them depending on how long ago you purchased the jewelry, of course. Be careful before you sell those items for their gold content, however. The money you receive may be far less than the value of the gold. Before you sell any items, check the prevailing spot gold price. You shouldn’t expect to receive top dollar, but the amount you receive should be within a few percentage points of the current spot value. Don’t simply assume a vendor is giving you the “best price” like most transactions, “value” is defined by how much money you are willing to receive. Shop around for the best price before you sell.
